F.A.Q
Welcome on our F.A.Q page
Here you can find answers to the most common questions regarding dHandyArt Project
dHandyArt is a project that wants to create synergy between arts and humanitarian campaigns. The name is a mix between these two words: “Handy” & “Dandy” (Handy Art for a Dandy World)
We are focused on Indie artists, so if you’re a musician, a painter, or a photographer, and you’d like to do something for this world here is the right place to show your skills
Hi guys, nice to meet you! I’m Chris Mariotti and I’m an artist too. I play in a band called Edgar Allan Poets. If you want to follow my band here is the link: Edgar Allan Poets. I decided to create dHandyArt because I’m tired of hearing Madonna or U2 announcing: “We help Africa, we help the world etc“. I want to do something for this world too! Also, if I’m only an underdog, I want to be useful with my art. The problem is that I can’t do it all alone because I can’t compete with the big stars. I run dHandyArt because my goal is to create a community of dHandy Artists: “Alone we are only fireflies, but together we can be a shiny sun”. If we bond together as a group, we are even stronger than U2!
How dHandyArt works is pretty simple. dHandyArt is cooperating with GoCampaign to identify Humanitarian Projects to sustain. Once we target a specific project, we create the mission statement for the artists and you can start submitting your art. If we choose to use your art for the project, you’re going to help the world! Isn’t that cool?
The Humanitarian project active now is : A room to read and learn for Laos Children
To sustain the humanitarian project active right now, we have created two missions:
-
INDIE ARTIST FOR THE WORLD CD COMPILATION
-
INDIE ARTISTS FOR THE WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL
ABOUT THE COMPILATION: We are looking for 20 artists (Rock, Folk, Alternative, Pop, Singer-Songwriters, Country, Acoustic) to contribute a song to the CD. You can submit your music here: SUBMIT. When we finalize which songs will be on the CD, we are going to sell and promote the compilation. We will sell the compilation in our digital store and we are going to promote it by distributing copies to Radio, Newspapers and Television. The price of the Digital CD will be $12 (no single track purchases will be allowed). The money received from sales will be broken down as follows: $3 goes to dhandyArt, $5 goes to the humanitarian project, $4 will be split between all the artists on the CD (20 cents each per copy). If selected for the CD, you only give us the permission to include your track on the compilation. You keep all the Copyrights, Master, Publishing, etc. We will release the compilation only when we reach the fantastic 20.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL: To be considered for the Music Festival, you must submit your music here. The festival will be held in Los Angeles because dHnadyArt is located here. Right now we are looking for sponsors and possible locations. Once we find what we need, we are good to go, so you better be ready. If you’re selected for the festival , you’ll have to play it for free. We give you a great spot, free promotion, you give us your talent. That’s the deal! (If you are not a local band, we will pay for gas).
dHandyArt is a new project so…”yes we need you”…if you like dHandyArt and you want to be part of the family, just write us a note here: info@dhandyart.com
